Our 2019 Fundraising Goals

We were delighted to receive our charitable status on March 6th 2018 (RCN: 20154738).  Our status gives us the opportunity to raise funds, in an effort to achieve our charitable purpose: to prevent and minimise gambling-related harm in Ireland.

To this end, our fundraising target for 2019 is €750,000.  This will be used to fund the following services:
  • A dedicated helpline service, providing support to anyone affected by gambling-related harm - via phone, email, text and webchat.  The service will be staffed by qualified addiction counsellor(s).
  • A nationwide outreach service, delivering talks, workshops and training to schools, colleges, sports clubs, workplaces and other organisations.  The outreach worker(s) will also facilitate psychoeducational groups for people with gambling problems and concerned persons (family/friends).
  • Five Out-Patient Treatment Centers, providing specialist problem gambling counselling to anyone with a gambling problem, as well as family members.  Proposed locations: Cork, Galway, Athlone, Limerick, Letterkenny.
**To date (July 2019), €100,000 has been raised.  This funding has been allocated to providing counselling and outreach services in Waterford and Dublin.**

We would greatly appreciate any support you can give us.   As a social enterprise, we also raise funds through commercial activities, should you or your organisation be interested in availing of them.

Please be advised that, as  a newly registered charity, we will be unable to apply for the Tax Refund Scheme until 2020, at the earliest.

If you would like to fundraise on our behalf, please contact Barry on 0892415401 or email info[at]problemgambling.ie for details.
